The improvement of cancer treatment for the Swiss population is the goal of SAKK. Since 1965, we have been the national network for clinical cancer research and the primary contact for clinical cancer researchers, authorities, associations, and pharmaceutical companies in Switzerland. At our Bern headquarters, around 70 employees work together with a network of all major oncology hospitals and clinics.

(Senior) Fundraising and Marketing Manager 80% - 100%

to support us in successfully implementing our strategy. This involves partnerships (Corporate Partnership/Philanthropy, authorities, foundations), branding and positioning, fundraising, and sustainable relationship management. In this role, you will have a lot of creative freedom and independence. We expect you to bring your own ideas, strike the right tone, and communicate confidently and purposefully both in writing and verbally. As a (Senior) Fundraising and Marketing Manager, you will be part of the new Communication & Strategic Partnership team and report directly to the Chief Communication and Strategic Partnership Officer (member of the management team).

Your tasks:

• Further development and implementation of the strategy for our fundraising, marketing, and partnership activities (mapping, annual planning, budget responsibility, evaluations)
• Final responsibility for the project portfolio for our fundraising, marketing, and partnership activities (reporting, maintaining customer contacts, planning and implementing events, presentations, and promotional materials)
• Fundraising through identification, outreach, and relationship building/maintenance with foundations, major donors, family offices, and companies
• Collaboration in communication on the conception, editing, and production of multimedia content as well as visual storytelling for the website and social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.)
• Organization of non-profit events and networking with relevant stakeholders
• Donor stewardship (care and thank-you communication to donors)
• Analysis and reporting (evaluation of fundraising data, measures)
• Collaboration on selected partnership projects with politicians and authorities.

You bring:

• (University) degree or relevant training in fundraising and/or marketing. Experience in the interplay of marketing and fundraising strategies is an advantage
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of opportunities, innovations, and targeted solutions in the further development of existing and identification of new partnerships
• Empathy in dealing with donors and understanding of their motivations
• Confident negotiation with donors, proven oral and written communication skills in German and English. French is an advantage.
• Independent and structured working style, initiative, and teamwork skills
• Project methodology for organizing and conducting fundraising events and campaigns; interest in creating multimedia content
• Positive and humorous personality that enriches our team with enthusiasm and joy
