Independent lab management of the cell culture laboratory (including maintenance, cleaning, material management, orders, documentation, etc.)
Independently perform microbiological and molecular biological diagnostics of highly pathogenic bacteria and viruses, including characterization using sequencing technologies (NGS)
Conduct cultural and molecular (detection) methods (e.g., inactivation, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping) of pathogens (viruses) in risk groups 1–4, assist in maintaining and optimizing the reference collection, organize and participate in national and international proficiency tests
Validate molecular biological evidence, review, optimize, and update work instructions and validation documents, support quality management and operation of the testing facility STS 0054
Assist in the organization and maintenance of the BSL2, BSL3, and BSL4 laboratory infrastructure (including equipment)
Collaborate on research projects (RG 1–4) and in laboratory training as well as in refresher courses for the military, membership in the response team for biological events (B-EEVBS)
What Makes You Unique
Completed vocational training as a biological laboratory technician EFZ, HFP or HF degree is an advantage
Several years of professional experience in microbiology and molecular biology, experience in cultivating and working with (highly) pathogenic pathogens is an advantage
Good knowledge of sterile work and a strong quality awareness
Experience working at least at biosafety level 2, biosafety level 3 is an advantage
Highly committed personality, responsible, high degree of independence, very safe working method (biosafety), organizational talent, high flexibility, teamwork skills, careful and precise working method, integrity, perseverance, and versatility
Passive knowledge of a second official language and good English skills
