The Schürmatt Foundation is a competence center for unique special educational services in the canton of Aargau. We employ around 440 staff at 13 locations. The majority are involved in the education, support, and care of people with disabilities.

We are looking for a competent individual to join us immediately or by agreement at our Aarau location as

Class Teacher Special Education HPS Aarau
Workload 60 - 100 %

Your main tasks

• You will take responsibility for a class of seven children with cognitive and multiple disabilities at our special education school.

• You will plan, teach, and reflect on lessons, supported by educational staff.

• You will ensure the quality of teaching and participate in the continuous improvement process of the school offerings.

• You will work closely with educational and medical therapies.

• You will actively shape the goal- and solution-oriented collaboration within the interdisciplinary school team.

• You will write meaningful support and school reports.

What you bring

• A recognized qualification in school special education in Switzerland or a diploma as a teacher with a willingness to complete the school special education course.

• Experience in teaching heterogeneous classes.

• Experience in working with people with disabilities and behavioral issues.

• High social competence and enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Resilience, creative and flexible thinking.

• Strong reflection, criticism, and conflict resolution skills.

• Very good communication skills in German.

• Good IT user skills (Office 365).

• Service and customer orientation.
