The municipality of Zermatt has around 6,000 inhabitants. It is the largest tourist community in the Alpine region. About 170 people ensure the extensive public service.
The Department of Civil Engineering designs and secures the infrastructure of Zermatt for today and future generations. In addition to planning, implementing, and maintaining roads, bridges, and utility lines, it is responsible for demanding projects in flood protection, access development, as well as the renovation and new construction of structures. The management of protective structures and geographic information systems complements the diverse range of activities.
In the Department of Civil Engineering, two full-time positions are to be filled. We are looking for you immediately or by arrangement as:
What you can expect




Your area of responsibility
Independent management and implementation of municipal civil engineering projects in the areas of road construction, structures, drainage and utility lines, as well as protective structures
Coordination and support of all project phases from feasibility to planning to project completion
Representation of the client as well as monitoring of costs, deadlines, and quality
Conducting condition assessments and participating in the maintenance of municipal infrastructure
Collaboration with authorities, engineering firms, utility owners, companies, and other project partners
Your competencies
Completed training in civil engineering, with corresponding further education (Technician HF, Construction Manager, Civil Engineer or equivalent)
Several years of professional and project experience in civil engineering or infrastructure
Solid expertise in road, bridge, and utility construction as well as project management
Independent, responsible, and structured working style with high initiative
Strong communication skills with negotiation skills, assertiveness, and teamwork ability
Very good German language skills, both spoken and written
