Senior Cloud Engineer (80 - 100%)

Your Tasks

• You actively drive the further development of our cloud services with a focus on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS.

• You plan, implement, and optimize modern cloud solutions for teaching, research, administration, and digital services, guiding them from evaluation to successful implementation.

• You ensure stable, secure, and economical operation of our cloud platforms, further develop monitoring, logging, and alerting, and analyze disruptions for continuous improvement of our services.

• You automate deployment and operation with Infrastructure as Code, scripting, and CI/CD, and consistently implement security and governance requirements in the areas of identity, network, hardening, backup, and recovery.

• You work closely with colleagues from architecture, security, application management, and operations, advise internal stakeholders, and contribute your expertise to cross-departmental projects.

• You take on 3rd-level support for your services and ensure sustainable operation and knowledge exchange through careful documentation.

Your Profile

• You have a degree or education in computer science or a comparable qualification with relevant practical experience.

• You possess solid knowledge of Microsoft Azure and ideally have additional experience with AWS and/or Google Cloud. Certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, ACE, or SOA-C02 are advantageous.

• You have experience in engineering and operating cloud services and understand the requirements for stable, secure, and economical service operations.

• You have experience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and scripting (Terraform, Python, PowerShell, and Bicep) as well as CI/CD, monitoring, and logging. Additionally, you have a good understanding of network, identity, security, and backup and recovery topics.

• You communicate confidently in German, have good English skills, and are enthusiastic about new technologies and their practical application.
