Your contribution

• Independently support projects, service management, and the commissioning authority in the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of ICT architectures of varying complexity.

• Gather needs, analyze, develop, and document solution proposals. Collaborate closely with specialist departments and other project functions within and outside the administrative unit.

• Advise stakeholders appropriately, quickly recognize connections, and prepare or create presentations tailored to the audience.

• Monitor developments within the federal administration and the ICT market through a personally established network of relationships and develop foundations to further advance the products and services of civil protection.

• Provide created electrical and electronics expertise in the product area of information & alerting systems.

• Define and be responsible for the remote control of sirens and their integration into subsystems, as well as establish the technical regulations for the approval and installation of alerting systems.

What makes you unique

• University degree (University or University of Applied Sciences) in Computer Science or Telecommunications or equivalent education.

• Proven understanding and extensive industry experience in ICT management, project management, risk management, information security, and quality management in an environment with demanding stakeholders and complex systems with different technologies.

• 5 to 7 years of professional experience in requirements & data engineering, service design, and architectures, as well as corresponding methodological competencies.

• Demonstrated experience in hardware and embedded software development in the fields of control and regulation technology in connection with mobile communication systems.

• Experience in the construction and rollout of control technology and/or communication systems such as antenna systems is desirable.

• Active knowledge of two official languages and English, passive knowledge of a third official language is an advantage.

The Federal Office for Civil Protection BABS is the nationally recognized coordination office for civil protection between federal agencies, cantons, and third parties. It provides foundations and coordination, particularly in the areas of risk analysis, warning and alerting, training, telematics, and protective infrastructure, as well as disaster medicine, ABC protection, and disarmament. Together with the cantons and other national and international partners, it has the capabilities, current technologies, and infrastructures to manage disasters and emergencies.
