Nursing Expert BScN or MScN 80-90% Neonatology
The Neonatology department of UKBB with 16 beds, including six ventilation places, Intermediate Care, and Special Care in rooming-in, is located in close proximity to the delivery room of the Women's Clinic at the University Hospital Basel. We care for neonates and newborns from the 24th week of gestation. The nursing team consists of 60 staff members with a total of 40 FTE. The staff from the Lactarium with 4 FTE are part of the Neonatology team.

Your tasks
Promotion and development of nursing and quality assurance
Professional and methodological guidance and coaching of staff in nursing, counseling, and education
Collaboration in interprofessional teams, project groups
Participation in the cross-hospital nursing development field
Creating and revising nursing guidelines, concepts, and information sheets
Implementing and supporting nursing teams in the execution of the nursing process
Conducting internal training events
Working in a team in shift operations
Patient-oriented care, nursing, and support for premature or newborns (Level 3) in acute to critically unstable health conditions
Independently performing complex nursing interventions in a highly specialized field
Continuously monitoring patients and initiating and/or executing measures in rapidly changing situations, including the application of specialized medical technology
Advising and guiding patients and their families with specific illnesses or situations to improve quality of life or the recovery process
Your profile
Completed nursing training as a certified nursing specialist HF/FH
Completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in nursing sciences
Completed further education NDS Intensive Care or ÜWP in Neonatal Intensive Care
Solid clinical and theoretical nursing knowledge and experience in the care of premature and newborns
At least 2 years of professional experience
Motivation and ability for constructive collaboration in a multidisciplinary team
Independent and flexible working style
High sense of responsibility and resilience
Strong professional and social competence
