Your Tasks:
As a Professor for Photogrammetric Computer Vision, you will strengthen the Institute of Geomatics in a central area of the discipline and develop it further with a focus on modern imaging sensors as well as the associated data collection and analysis. The organization of the institute is based on collaboration, personal responsibility, and active participation. As part of the team, you will develop a visible, application-oriented profile in research and teaching. You will particularly shape the following areas:
Establishment and further development of the department "Photogrammetric Computer Vision"
Research along the process chain from data collection using imaging sensors to 3D reconstruction and interpretation of spatial data
Development of robust methods for kinematic and real-time applications as well as for the integration of image, navigation, and other sensor data
Targeted use of artificial intelligence methods in all steps of the process chain
Acquisition, management, and execution of third-party funded projects (e.g., Innosuisse, SNF, EU)
Establishment and leadership of your own research group as well as active publication activities
Designing and conducting courses at the bachelor, master, and continuing education levels
Further development of the curriculum and linking research and teaching
Collaboration with adjacent fields such as geosensorics, geoinformatics, spatial data science, and geovisualization
Participation in the strategic further development of the institute and taking on leadership tasks
Your Profile:
You are a qualified professional with interest and proven track record in application-oriented research, committed teaching, and interdisciplinary collaboration. You combine expertise in photogrammetry and computer vision with a strong practical orientation and the motivation to actively develop the field in research, teaching, and the institute.
University degree in geomatics or a related field, ideally with a doctorate
Solid knowledge and practical experience in photogrammetry and computer vision, particularly in processing and evaluating image, LiDAR, and other 3D data
Experience with modern imaging sensor systems and in the integration of image, navigation, and geodata
Documented successes in application-oriented research and in acquiring and executing third-party funded projects
Teaching experience and higher education didactic qualification or willingness to acquire it
Viable national and international network in geomatics (industry, administration, and/or research)
Very good German and English skills for effective communication in teaching, research, and collaboration
Applications may include a portfolio of relevant projects and publications (e.g., website, GitHub)
