The Center for Social Services is one of the largest associations of its kind in Switzerland. On behalf of 28 municipalities with a catchment area of over 100,000 people, we are actively engaged, accessible, and networked in the following areas: Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB), Professional Guardianship, Social Counseling, Mother and Father Counseling, Addiction Counseling, and School Social Work.
The School Social Work department of the Center for Social Services (Zenso) currently comprises a team of nine professionals (including team leadership), who work at a total of eleven schools in our member municipalities. The SSA team of Zenso maintains regular professional exchanges (team meetings, intervision, joint training) and is well-networked both regionally and at the cantonal level. The internal interfaces with other departments of Zenso are actively maintained (e.g., with KESB, Professional Guardianship, or Social Counseling).
The position can be filled by one or two persons.
Your Responsibilities
As part of school social work, children and adolescents, their families, as well as teaching and care staff are supported and advised. The focus is on prevention and early detection, counseling, and intervention. This involves students from primary and secondary levels.
First point of contact for students, guardians, and teachers regarding psychosocial issues
Empowering students to support them in their challenges and the development of their skills
Solution-oriented systemic counseling of individuals, groups, or entire classes
Identification and assessment of risk situations
Promotion of a positive and supportive school culture through preventive offerings
Coordination and networking with specialist agencies to provide effective support
What You Bring
A completed degree in Social Work or Social Education (tertiary level)
Further training in systemic-solution-oriented counseling, school social work is desirable or a willingness to further educate in this direction
Professional experience in working with children, adolescents, and families
Resilience, personal responsibility, and good self-management
Team spirit and good communication skills
Good IT skills (Office, possibly CASEnet)
