Head of Department for Operating Technology, 80–100 %
The operations department of the City Hospital Zurich includes 16 operating rooms at the Triemli, Waid, and Europaallee locations. Around 170 professionals ensure excellent surgical care for our patients 365 days a year. To further develop our department, we are looking for a personality who can lead - and let go - immediately.
Responsibilities
You will take on the professional and personnel leadership of the group leaders in operating technology, patient positioning, and the associated staff positions at both locations. In doing so, you provide orientation, build trust, and give your leaders the space they need for effective action.
You promote and challenge collaboration within the team and actively strengthen cohesion and shared responsibility at the management level.
You represent the interests of operating technology and patient positioning internally and externally – towards other disciplines, management, and in the context of goal and development discussions.
You drive the strategic development of the department forward and develop new, future-oriented approaches for a modern and efficient operating room routine together with the group leaders.
You think and act across locations, keeping the overall system in view and steering with foresight – in the sense of uniform standards and sustainable solutions.
You are responsible for data analysis and reporting to management and keep resources, processes, and relevant key figures in view at all times.
You actively shape change and development processes – clear in attitude, solution-oriented in approach, and with the necessary perspective in the complex hospital environment.
Profile
You have completed training as a certified specialist in operating technology HF or an equivalent qualification.
You have substantial leadership experience with larger teams and have completed further training in leadership.
You bring very good knowledge of operating room processes, workflows, and interfaces and navigate confidently in the complex operating room environment.
You are characterized by high social competence and pronounced reflective ability.
You make clear decisions and possess the necessary assertiveness, combined with strong communication skills.
You are conflict-capable: you can mediate, clearly name issues, and maintain trust and sustainable relationships.
You bring a lot of humor, stability, professionalism, and humanity into a demanding operating room routine.
