Civil Status Officer (50 %)
The Department of Security and Environment, with its 440 employees, includes the areas of municipal police, protection & intervention, reporting and civil status, environmental and health protection, as well as the municipal court. The Civil Status Office in Winterthur is responsible for the civil status tasks of the 18 municipalities in the entire district of Winterthur as the official seat of the civil status district of Winterthur.
For this demanding role as a certifying officer, we are looking for a resilient personality who stands out for their high initiative, solution orientation, and above all, pronounced humanity, starting July 1, 2026 or by arrangement.
Your Tasks
Certification of civil status and registration
Registration of foreign nationals in the civil status register
Certification of civil status events as well as court and administrative decisions in the electronic civil status register
Preparation of extracts and documents from the civil status registers
Receiving declarations at the counter (marriage preparations, child acknowledgments, etc.) and personal consultation of clients
Preparation and execution of marriage preparations and ceremonies
Your Profile
Completed federal diploma as a "Civil Status Officer"
Above-average enjoyment of direct customer contact
Confident, competent, and customer-friendly demeanor
Fluent German in spoken and written form; additional language skills in Italian, French, and English are desirable
