Your tasks:
The University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland is looking for a dedicated individual to strengthen the Institute of Electrical Power Engineering in the newly established research area of high voltage technology. In an interdisciplinary environment, you will work on current issues related to the diagnostics of high voltage components as well as the development of new insulation materials. In doing so, you will make an important contribution to shaping the future energy supply network. In this role, you will actively participate in national research collaborations and significantly contribute to the development of the department.
This includes in particular:
Conducting service and research projects in the field of high voltage technology in collaboration with manufacturers and operators of equipment for electrical networks
Diverse range of tasks from computer simulation to experimental validation in the laboratory
Supervising student projects and laboratory experiments in high voltage technology
Actively contributing to the establishment of the high voltage technology department at FHNW and further developing the service offerings
Your profile:
You have a completed university degree in electrical engineering or a comparable field
Knowledge in the field of high voltage technology and electrical systems from studies or industrial practice
Practical experience in a high voltage laboratory is a great advantage
Your working style is independent, structured, and solution-oriented, and you enjoy taking responsibility
You are motivated to engage with new issues, to shape and drive them creatively, and you work well in a team
Interest in working in a scientific environment in close collaboration with industry
Good communication skills in German or English
The position is initially limited until December 31, 2027, and can be extended if necessary.
