Project Manager Traffic Planning (80% - 100%)

Help shape the traffic of tomorrow in Burgdorf!

From the first idea to implementation, you will effectively contribute your expertise in traffic and mobility issues. As part of an interdisciplinary team, your work will shape the future face of Burgdorf - a city that is sustainably, interconnectedly, and livably evolving. With foresight, creativity, and technical understanding, you will develop solutions that make traffic safer, more efficient, and environmentally friendly. You will help ensure that people in Burgdorf - whether on foot, by bike, using public transport, or by car - can move freely and intelligently.

  • You lead and coordinate projects that move Burgdorf - from bicycle traffic to city logistics

  • You develop innovative concepts and studies to make traffic more sustainable, safer, and more livable

  • You network stakeholders - from planning offices to the canton and SBB to local stakeholders - and bring everyone to the table

  • You accompany urban development projects and ensure that good traffic planning is an integral part of a livable city

  • You create decision-making bases that set the course for shaping the traffic of tomorrow

  • You actively contribute to the implementation of the Burgdorf mobility strategy - with ideas, initiative, and enthusiasm

You are eager to effectively apply your extensive expertise from traffic and possibly also mobility planning from your studies and professional life and to learn every day. Requirements / Qualifications (Professional)

  • University degree (ETH/University/FH) in spatial, traffic, civil engineering or a comparable field

  • Several years of professional experience in traffic planning at the municipal or cantonal level or in planning offices

  • Solid knowledge in motor vehicle, public transport, and slow traffic planning as well as the interface with urban development

  • Familiarity with planning instruments (building legislation, zoning and land use planning)

  • Experience in tenders and project management according to SIA phases is an advantage

  • Proficient in GIS / CAD / traffic simulation tools is an advantage

Methodical / Social

  • Strong project management and coordination skills

  • Ability to moderate and balance different interests (politics, public, specialist offices)

  • High communication competence (written and oral)

  • Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style

  • Negotiation security - internally as well as with external partners
