The University Children's Hospital of Basel (UKBB) is looking for a committed individual as Deputy Director of Nursing 80%. In this responsible role, you will support the Nursing Directorate in strategic and operational management and represent the interests of nursing both internally and externally. You will contribute to the further development of nursing quality and promote interprofessional collaboration. You can expect a diverse role in a dynamic environment with high professional competence and a clear focus on the needs of children and adolescents.
Start date: April 1, 2026
Your tasks
Deputy to the Director of Nursing and co-responsibility for the strategic direction of the nursing service (324 FTE, 550 employees)
Co-responsibility for the implementation of nursing goals
Operational and personnel management of an organizational unit with financial responsibility
Responsibility for the entire internal and external training and continuing education program of the nursing service
Leading complex, sometimes hospital-wide specialist projects
Member of the hospital management and deputy member of the department management
Member of the Quality and Risk Commission
Your profile
Committed and reliable leader with management experience in nursing
Proven competencies and experience in personnel management, personnel development, consulting, process support, nursing development, nursing quality, and education
Completed further education in management at MAS level
High coordination and organizational skills
High professional and social competence
Established, committed, and empathetic personality with life experience
Entrepreneurial, responsible, and networked thinking and acting
Strong resilience and very good communication skills
