Your tasks:
Shape the materials of tomorrow – with your expertise in teaching, research, and development.
At the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, you will take on responsibility in a practical and future-oriented environment. You will contribute your expertise to the education of future engineers and develop innovative solutions together with industry partners. Your tasks include, among others:
- You teach with enthusiasm in the mechanical engineering program and impart solid knowledge in the field of metallic and ceramic materials.
- You actively support Bachelor’s and Master’s students in their project work and promote their practice-oriented development.
- You acquire exciting research and development projects, implement them together with industry partners, and take on project management.
- You lead scientific staff and assistants professionally and strengthen their competencies through your expertise.
- You actively participate in the materials testing laboratory and shape its further development with innovative spirit and technical know-how.
Your profile:
- You have a completed university degree (preferably with a doctorate) in materials science, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
- You bring solid know-how in the characterization and application of metallic and ceramic materials – ideally complemented by experience in materials testing.
- You enjoy teaching and have some teaching experience – or the motivation to acquire this competence promptly.
- You think application-oriented and have experience in the acquisition and implementation of R&D projects in collaboration with industry.
- You take responsibility in the professional leadership of a small team and promote knowledge transfer between teaching, research, and practice.
- You enjoy working in a laboratory environment and bring your own ideas for the further development of infrastructure and testing methods.
