Your tasks:

As a research assistant in the research focus on Cybernetic Learning Systems in the Master's program in Business Information Systems, you will work at the interface between research and practice. You will develop innovative prototypes and solutions, design exciting projects with industry partners, and drive research initiatives forward. Your responsibilities include the following points:

• Develop innovative ideas and models to solve complex problems
• Utilize the latest technologies in the field of ML and applied AI
• Contribute new ideas based on existing scientific publications
• Opportunity to participate in scientific publications
• Collaborate with leading industry partners in various fields, e.g., public transport, aviation, insurance, finance, or energy sector
• Support projects funded by the EU and Innosuisse

The position is initially limited to 1–3 years.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree (ETH, university, FH) in computer science, data science, engineering, or natural sciences
• Strong programming skills in Python and other languages such as R, C++
• Experience with databases and data management systems is an advantage
• In-depth knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and ideally expertise in optimization and operations research
• Enthusiasm for applied research and willingness to collaborate with industry and academia
• Independent working style and willingness to develop in new areas
