In the pediatric diabetology department at UKBB, children and adolescents with all disorders of glucose metabolism are cared for and usually treated for years. Mainly, these are patients with Type 1 diabetes under functional insulin therapy or insulin pump therapy.
Start date: from August 1, 2025, or by agreement
Your tasks
- Professional diabetes counseling for outpatient and inpatient patients. In the outpatient area, we have about 1,000 consultations per year.
- Instruction and support of patients with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) and all forms of insulin pump therapy
- Support of the medical consultation
- Instruction of relatives and schools regarding the care of children with diabetes
- Practical and administrative support of internal departmental clinical studies
- Organization and implementation of training/continuing education for nursing staff
Your profile
- Completed training as a diabetes specialist HöFa I / DAS or CAS in diabetes care
- Constructive and interprofessional collaboration in an interdisciplinary team
- Independent, competent, and secure working style
- High social competence as well as motivation and commitment to working with children, adolescents, and their families
- Willingness for professional development and active participation in the nursing process
- Good foreign language skills, especially in French, are an advantage
