Selectchemie is our customers’ partner from the idea to the market – from project selection for API and Finished Dosage Forms products (FDF), API process and FDF dossier development through strategic sourcing and regulatory affairs to marketing and supply. As a strategic partner for API supplies we establish reliable sources and even develop our own API manufacturing IP for our global customer base, and as an FDF dossier house we develop medicinal products, which we out-license to our global clientele based on license and supply agreements (LSAs).

Both the portfolio development including strong partnerships with API supplier and the dossier outlicensing are the backbone of our future business, since we develop our IP, which we offer, sell and license to our global customer base and ensure stable and secure supplies for our customers’ success.

Your tasks and responsibilities

You identify, approach, evaluate and qualify potential API supply partners and support the corresponding business cases with cost and profit analysis, as well as gap analysis. For selected projects you handle all tasks related to the API sourcing.

• You are the technical lead for topics like specification, route of synthesis (RoS), polymorphism, patents etc.
• As a member of the S&OP Team you frequently will align with colleagues from quality, regulatory, sales, project management, supply chain to support availability of the APIs as needed, by ensuring supply by our API supply partner as needed.
• You establish, maintain and negotiate new and existing supply agreements to be handed over to our operation for call-off shipments.
• You maintain the cooperation to current suppliers.
• With support of our 2 ASEAN sourcing offices and worldwide you will source new APIs on customer e.g. project need or back-up supplies for existing APIs.
• As a member of Selectchemie’s portfolio team, you support to identify and analyse the market potential of new molecules that Selectchemie considers for API and FDF dossier development by covering API sourcing.
• You report on spends / performance / project status / activities.

Your profile

• Technical background in chemistry, biology, biochemistry or pharmacy
• Several years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in generics
• Sourcing experience for APIs (at least 2 years)
• Basic GMP and regulatory knowledge
• Experience in contracting (supply agreements) and in the life science business
• You have strong communication skills and like to build your own network with internal and external stakeholders.
• You are fluent in English, German is of great benefit.

• Experience to cooperate with companies in Far East
• Regulatory experience for Drug Master Files
• IP knowledge (patent evaluation)
• API development for innovating (alternate) RoS and COGS reduction
• Good GMP knowledge
• API experience in R&D and/or production
